A one-man-band with all-original material, writing, composing and performing since 2005.
My name is Evan Schafer. I am an independent (or "indie") musician with a strong grounding in traditional composition, but I like to think my material always has a unique and individual flair. I guarantee not being bored out of your gourd when turning on one of the records. I produce, mix, and engineer everything myself, and have done so since late 2005.

Story behind the song
Evan Schafer - Yamaha CP80, synths, drums, vocals I sat in my cold basement in February of this year thinking about the direction of 'Maya'. My computer was on with a brand new, completely empty track in front of me on the screen. While thinking, I played the keyboard sitting directly next to the desk on a keyboard stand. Just playing--not intending to write anything specific--I found the notorious opening chords of "The Gazebo."
Lyrics
Where do you go when I’m gone? Do you scream and shout for joy Or do you just forget about me Walking down the pathway to hell Dastardly deeds gone wrong again Seeing things that I shouldn’t see Writing down my life without a pen Everyday just climbing up a tree The gazebo in the town square Makes passes at one thing or another Young men and women looking at each other The area suddenly becomes bare Once everything is gone from sight You take off in your plane for another long flight But will you remember this old place Or will everything be a blur so you can win the race
