FINAL SINGLE FROM 'NO LOUD MUSIC PLEASE'
Artist picture
A one-man-band with all-original material, writing, composing and performing since 2005.
My name is Evan Schafer. I am an independent (or "indie") musician with a strong grounding in traditional composition, but I like to think my material always has a unique and individual flair. I guarantee not being bored out of your gourd when turning on one of the records. I produce, mix, and engineer everything myself, and have done so since late 2005.

Story behind the song
The story behind this song is quite simple, actually. I came up with the concept of a relationship gone bad, and how it sprouted and died continuously throughout the years. It starts in 1967 and ends in 1989 when the other person dies suddenly. It was a quasi-love story/drama film sequence which I was not so keen on doing at first, but then I thought it would fit well with the album. Evan Schafer - drums, MIDI piano, synths, vocals
Lyrics
(Verse 1) It's 1967 and you're waiting for my call You've got no sense in that little brain Watching the days fall off the calendar And taking long walks down the lane (Verse 2) It's 1973 and we've been dating for a time You know I'm getting tired of it So why don't you leave me alone I will not pick up the phone Another calendar comes off the wall (Verse 3) It's 1979 and I'm trying to remain calm My doctor says I'm way too stressed I've got a waiver that says I'm in trouble If I don't keep my blood pressure down Keep it down, keep it down! (Verse 4) It's 1981 and well you know how it goes Another calendar gets bought at the store Crossing off the days and sleeping the nights On my way right back to you (Verse 5) It's 1986 and you're dying yourself You wish we had some kind of a past But don't try to crawl back to me I won't take you back and plus it would never last (Bridge) Three more calendars go, it's 1989 And it's time to remorse about you You passed in the night, no one gave you a fright But you went without the slightest sound (Verse 6) It's 1991 and I can't say anymore I didn't really know you that well Forget about me because I'm coming to see The forlorn look that has fallen, yeah (Ending) Nine again, nine again, nine again, nine again, nine again, nine again, nine again, nine again calendars Nine again, nine again, nine again, nine again Nine again, nine again, nine calendars until you die (1st and 2nd Verse Repeat) Leave me alone! I will not pick up the phone Another calendar comes off the wall
