Story behind the song
I hate blues. Hate it, hate it, HATE IT. Not all blues, mind you; bebop blues is awesome, and some Van Halen stuff has bluesy touches. But anything that has that stupid hokey 1-4-5 feel and some retarded lyric repeated over and over ("OOh baby, I'm gonna make you mine, ooh baby I'm gonna make you mine, you a sexy baby, and I'm gonna love you all the time" or something equally infantile) makes me fume. So when my Theory II teacher told us that we had to do a blues project, I figured I'd do it MY way. I gave him his progression, and his goddamn repeated line...and then I metal-ed it up, as was inevitable. The SOLOS (I love doing that) admittedly were a blast to write, and the second especially is a major ode to EVH, Vai, and other whammy-bar wailers; now that my RG is Edge-Pro equipped, I've been going to town with it.
