Story behind the song
From the experimental E.P. that pre-dates "Eternal Life."
This song almost didn't make the E.P. I bought 3 beats from the Odd Couple. Once I finished writing to the first two beats, I would play this third one repeadedly, not expecting much to come of it. I pulled into the parking lot on my way into the gym and then it hit me: "Joy Peace, Lord please..." Shortly thereafter, I was at all night prayer at the church, and noticed several sisters in tears praying for the salvation of family members. Had some other stuff that I felt the Lord laid on my heart. After a few days the lyrics were done, but I felt that the beat was just right for a vocalist or two. So I called two of my favorites and the rest is history.
This is one of those songs that a lot of people like and a lot of people don't. Happens to be my favorite song on the E.P. Who would have thought?
