A one-man-band with all-original material, writing, composing and performing since 2005.
My name is Evan Schafer. I am an independent (or "indie") musician with a strong grounding in traditional composition, but I like to think my material always has a unique and individual flair. I guarantee not being bored out of your gourd when turning on one of the records. I produce, mix, and engineer everything myself, and have done so since late 2005.

Story behind the song
Evan Schafer - harpsichord, piano, bass, drums, vocals I remember composing the main riff to "Endless Blue" which came out of a long, long session of recording at my father's house. I had been messing around with live drum tracks -- none of which seemed to be working for me. Eventually, I found the famous riff by just playing through some Eb chords. I could hear an electronic-type drum beat going behind it, so I did a quick recording and it sounded just like I had imagined it. That recording is the final song we all know and love today. Looking back, it was really a very shallow composition for that time in my music career, but it has a somewhat ethereal quality to it which makes it all the better.
Lyrics
I can see the beach from here And the deserted path leading out Has brought me nearer and more interested But how did I actually find this place? It was not on my map when I scheduled out my quest So when I arrived here I forgot all the rest Is it true that this is new, never seen, never traveled to The kind of place you find out there is nothing good to do The endless blue waves form shapes behind my back I travel lightly but I stop and take a drink from my backpack I've been tricked before, but I can't say this is one of them Instead it is truly shining like the biggest emerald gem I feel like I may be losing my mind But I swear this happens every single time So is this real or is it just a game But I promise that once I leave I will never be the same
