Do It Yourself Alternative
Since receiving his first guitar at age 12 (a 1965 Silvertone) Ryan has been writing and playing music for his personal enjoyment for more than 30 years. After years of putting his music on assorted cassettes (and a 8 year layoff to take care of career and kids) Ryan put Pro Tools on an old computer in the back bedroom and began writing, playing and recording music again. It's a life-long hobby for him. Ryan plays guitar, bass and keyboards and uses a drum machine for the beats.

Story behind the song
I wrote the words in the early-morning hours of Dec. 9, 1980 just after hearing of John Lennon's murder. They seemed to fit a music track that I had put together recently.
Lyrics
Here I sit with my face in the mirror Mind's flying apart Knowing with the sun that's waken me Something has taken my heart I look around I try to see What? I cannot hear Here I sit, I try to perceive Something so close so near I find you in my first arising Watching the time go by See the smile upon your face Hope is still alive
