Have A Good Day
My rent is due I can’t pay
All my cash has dwindled away
I turned off the heat I’m staying cool
Can’t pay the high price of fuel
I’m in debt my credit nil
Don’t have friends to pay the bill
I know it is grim and getting worse
When I reach my hand into an empty purse
Times are really getting tough
Trying to survive is mighty rough
The president says the economy is great
But I do not have enough food on my plate
Cost of gas I can’t afford
Staying home and I am bored
At night I cannot fall asleep
I ran out of numbers counting sheep
I have to choose either food or medication
Can’t even think of taking a vacation
The president keeps beating around the bush
Saying how times are rosy and lush
My life is getting very hectic
They’ve cut off my phone and electric
My wife is complaining that I’m underfoot
My sex life is completely caput
The IRS says I’m behind in my tax
With all the problems how can I relax
I’m trying to conserve and recycle
Pedaling to town on my bicycle
I’ve tightened my belt to its last notch
I can’t be blamed for what has been botched
Everyone says, “Have a great day”
I just grin what more can I say
