Before looking at the music, Ricta's true love for Hip Hop is something that is not only hard to miss but is also something which is evidently a vital corner stone of his music. So often in these days and times of 'everyone wants to be an mc many who claim the title are simply making a fashion statement, something that cannot be said for Ricta. Having already released his debut 'General No One' mixtape in May of this year which has sold worldwide, the lead single ‘Give It Up’ enjoyed airplay on various online & FM radio stations, the second mixtape entitled ‘Rictape’ is currently in the works and is set to drop in the first quarter of 2008 , as well as sponsorship from the independent ‘Thief clothing’ label and the ‘Night Riders’ car club. Originally starting out as a DJ at 12 years old, Ricta's love for music would take him from tapes, to the crates, and eventually, to the microphone. Influenced by mainly late 80’s / early 90’s US Hip Hop, the true skills and live element of being an MC is really something close to his heart. In 2006 Ricta began working with locally (Coventry, UK) founded record label ‘Influential Entertainment’ and is now both an artist and co-runner of the label which boasts a talented range of MC’s / Singers & Producers. Continuing to build on his string of live shows & performances across the country combined with a hard work ethic things are only set to get better.
