Story behind the song
My little brother Kelly challenged me to write a tune using one of his poems for the lyrics. This is the first one.

STANDSTILL
like violent swings in open air
my heart beats hard against a wall
this feeling washes over me
warm like summers glow
my cheeks rosy red
unable to speak
my head soars through thoughts
thoughts of unimaginable glee
a life once sour
now a joyful man
this kiss we share is ours forever
this moment a standstill in time
