Story behind the song
Too many Marines are dishonored by their wives, friends, and families when they leave to foreign lands to protect America from Terrorism. Forgot about, ignored, and taken for granted these warriors receive little support, simple tastes of home and things familiar, that help to stay sane and motivated. The instances in this song range from OIF 1 to OIF 4 all involving 3rd Battalion, 4th Marines and it's all about the "11's", the grunts, the infantryman who work their balls off in a combat zone and get paid about $3.60/hour to do it.
