Story behind the song
All this talk about Jesus and who He is had finally taken it's toll on me, and, with His help, this song was written!
Lyrics
V.1... They dig in the sand. They break down the stone. They unearth ancient artifacts of rubble and bone. Old writings on tablet. Old parchments broken and dry. Looking through history for Jesus. The truth or a lie. V.2... With every ruin where once stood a city. Or legend of one, but, no ruins are found. They search in the past on hilltops and valleys. To discover His roots, they dig in the ground. Ch... He's found in the heart and not in the ruins. He's found in the heart and not in the ruins of dust. V.3... Down through the ages men have looked for Him on pages of books and writings on walls. They've listen to stories old men had to tell them. In palaces old they've walked down the halls. V.4... But, I can tell them where the secret is hidden. No robber can steal. No decaying of rust. He is the God of the living, this man called Jesus. He is found in the heart and not in the ruins of dust. Ch... He's found in the heart and not in the ruins. He's found in the heart and not in the ruins of dust. REPEAT CHORUS...
