A song about those who've given too much for the wars.
Story behind the song
This is the first song I wrote and recorded in some time. I was reading a number of books about the Iraq war and they probably influenced the song.

======================================
Na na na...
(Verse 1)
He was born an American, in Arizona, in the Valley of the Sun
He grew up, got his K-12 education, high school football team, class president
His parents stayed together for his sake, to raise him right
He was told about a promised land by his teachers, his friends, and his family, he started
(Chorus)
Chasing the American Dream
It was promised to you, it was promised to me
Are you living the American Dream
Can you show me how, can you show me the way to the
American Dream
Na na na...
(Verse 2)
He graduated with honors, set out to find a job, do his best for himself and his country
Make his mom and dad proud, save a bit of money, go to church, buy a house, start a family
War broke out in a far off land, his country needed more men, he volunteered to join the Army
He was sent to liberate a distant place full of sand where all the people kept shouting to him we are
(Repeat Chorus)
Na na na...
(Verse 3)
He rose through the ranks, got his stripes, earned some medals for good conduct and for bravery
His men trusted their lives to him, he led them on patrol on the last day of May
His squad took heavy fire, humvee hit an IED, flipped over, pinned him into foreign ground
Now he lay bleeding in the sand, thinking about mom and dad, and how he's no longer
(Repeat Chorus)
Na na na...
