My own little tribute song to rock 'n' roll. Everybody has to have one.

Rock, Pop, & Sometimes Whatever Else
- Have a revised list of recordings with more recent songs included at www.soundclick.com/mattbanx - Some recordings that I did. I am influenced by everything. But rock is my biggest influence, mellow or hard. I like thick bass and prefer the melodic, but hopefully it is never wimpy. I'm just looking to improve my playing, mixing, and songwriting. Not to market anything. I play everything by hand. No fancy production. Just guitar, bass, drum, keyboard, and voice. I occasionally use my reverb unit, like with the guitar solo on "Done With Mirrors". I have been experimenting more with the basic sound. These are mostly plugging the instument into my sound card, otherwise. I record between 2 computers. I hope you like what you hear and remember this page. Otherwise, thanks for the listen.

Lyrics
Going down the town Amongst all the street lights A path to roam No matter where you are from All the songs playing From a band or jukebox Can't find to where I'm staying And all the hearts to steal Bigger than a gin joint All heart and soul Getting in the feeling That old rock 'n' roll The street life never stops I hear that old sound So clear and real Brings me from lost to found 80 year old man Swinging with his big band No machines or big show Just all heart and soul In the vast horizons No matter what the show So old yet new That same old rock 'n' roll Have the feeling In that musical bowl Just going down those streets Quite a heavenly stroll Getting that feeling From the daily toll All the life around me And the songs that are playing Whether it's swinging with the honey Or in the mosh pits No matter what the money It's that old rock 'n' roll
