Story behind the song
when i lived in the u-district with my friend brian, i had a neighbor named ed. he was a 70 year old alcoholic who was always drunk on burbon and he would come up to my room looking for company. sometimes he'd say he was looking for his cat and sometimes he'd ask us to play something from our record collection. one time in particular i had my friend stephanie over and he came up a couple times and finally he said "you know there was something i wanted to ask you but i just cant remember what it is..." pregnant pause. "oh yes i just wanted to take a closer look at this beautiful girl you have up here!" i think everybody in the building had these high expecations and fantasies that brian and i were pulling in so many girls all of the time and it really made me laugh.
