Story behind the song
NAIL - After Slam Hound started playing shows, we had to start writing new songs. This was the first of that. It was about a month after the 911 attack when I wrote the words. Since the song was uptempo I wanted to write something positive. The first verse is kind of like a God bless the ones who died. The second verse is about going after the terrorists. The third verse is about how we should raise our children in today's world. The chorus is just an angry cry for Bin Laden's head on a platter.
Lyrics
I'm not your preacherman, I'm not asking you to pray
but I am the voice of America, come hear what I say
I hold a candle up to all the ones who lost their lives
My heart goes out to all their families and their wives
We had enough problems with the wars on our streets
Now we're over there kicking ass over seas
Terrorist nonsense, it don't make a damn to me
I just hope when you find his ass you make him bleed
CHORUS NAIL, LAST NAIL IN YOUR COFFIN (4 times)
I'm not the voice inside your head you want to trust
because if I had my way I'd leave him in the dust
SOLO
CHORUS
I am the voice of America, come hear what I say
We need to teach our kids how to grow up today
We can't hide them from the truth, they need to speak their mind
This is not a perfect world, we're running out of time
CHORUS
NAIL, NAIL,NAIL,NAIL,NAIL,NAIL,NAILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!
