Story behind the song
I grew up in Windhill, a town near Bradford in West Yorkshire. Next to the Leeds Liverpool canal was a man-made hill called Dog Daisy Hill. What seemed when we were children to be a mountain is probably only about 10 metres high! We spent many happy hours on the hill.
