Story behind the song
A riff I made up a while ago (around 1995) that never materialized into a full song. Just couldn't think of any lyrics or ideas for vocal melodies that didn't do exactly what the guitar was already doing. Basically I just pulled it out to get more practice using Pro Tools (only my second recording now) but I'm not very happy with how it turned out though I can't really pin point what exactly went wrong...I just know that something did. Actually since I wrote the above description I’ve meditated on the issue some and figured out what is wrong. (Translation: I had a few beers) I never intended this riff to be a stand alone instrumental. I always envisioned it with a vocal over top and the riff would just be repeated in the back ground however many times necessary. Like (I can’t get no) Satisfaction or Hungry like the Wolf or something. Those songs, as good as their riffs are, would have sounded silly just repeating by themselves with no vocals. Kinda like how my riff sounds silly just repeating with no vocals.
