A classic love song I wrote for a contest from Paramount Music-virtual guest artist, Doc Watson
Original inspirational music, ranging from hard rock to bluegrass.
Story behind the song
I wrote this because Paramount Pictures was having a Valentine's contest to find the best love song. The funny part is I was running short on money and never got to enter the song.
Lyrics
Two young kids starting out in life,
Got too many bills to pay.
Sometimes they don't know how
they're gonna make it through the day.
They'll build a family and that is all they're thinking of.
That's not just dedication, that's just love.
They take the kids to church,
To movies and to baseball games.
Sometimes they make mistakes
But never argue who's to blame.
He loves to look at her. He never seems to get enough.
That's not infatuation, that's just love.
They're gonna make it through,
Doing what they have to do.
Trusting in each other and in the Lord above.
And as the years go by
And golden hair turns to grey,
She's the apple of his eye.
The feeling never goes away.
She's his through thick and thin
and even when the going's tough.
That feeling that she gives him, that's just love.
INSTRUMENTAL
No matter when or where,
He knows she will still be there
And she knows she can count on him
when things get rough.
The grandkids come to call
And help them with their daily chores.
And still they can't recall
When they have loved each other more.
They've had their ups and downs
but that's just unimportant stuff.
There's just one thing that matters. That's just love.
And they'll walk hand in hand
Loving in the Promised Land.
According to the plan and that's just love.
