The Beatitudes comprise one of the most beautiful and popular parts of the Bible. I have never heard of them being set to music, so I was inspired to correct that deficiency.

Blessed are the people who understand the soul
Is an empty vessel. Only God can make it whole.
They shall have the kingdom
and the key to heaven's door.
All of heaven's glory shall be theirs forever more.

because they know
The distance between heaven
and the earth here below.

That only comes from Jesus and our Father up above.
Blessed are the people, the humble and the meek.
They shall find the power and the blessings
