Story behind the song

Back at the time this was written, another friend of mine was composing as avidly as me...we were almost rivals.

But when I made this one, he seemed to sort of give up - he said he'd "never be able to write something like that".

I can't help but feel bad because of that, especially because he very much was as capable as me - his ideas were more unique, I just created a more "finished" product - his songs still sounded empty. *sigh* But what can one do about it, really?
