Story behind the song
I wanted to write a song that the guys serving in Iraq would relate to. I did a lot of research to try to understand this situation from their perspective. Ironically I read a story about a 19 year old woman who went back under exactly these circumstances. The blog was posted about 2 days after I wrote the song.
