Acoustic Pop cover of a song by Ty Tabor, the guitarist, sometimes vocalist in King's X. The song is about the uncertainty of knowing if love is the real deal. And what the eyes have to say.
acoustic guitar
I'm a folky acoustic guitar player/singer. I thought this might be a good place to make some of my music available on the web.
Story behind the song
I liked Ty's version of this song. When I bought a little digital recorder a while back it came with a built in drum machine and bass simulator. I wanted to try these features out and decided to do a version of this song. I sent a copy to Ty and he graciously gave me permission to post it.
Lyrics
All my days, All my life, I have questioned wrong and right
Anything that I see makes me face reality
And then there's you
A million miles come together in a smile
Memories try to fade all the things that we made
And then my mind tells me to keep my heart in place
But your eyes make me weak, make me strong
make me feel that I belong
and your eyes make me laugh, make me cry
make me feel that I can fly
Still I wait for a call
hear your voice but that is all
Wish I could hold your hand
see you through and understand
Is it real? Is this love? Is it push or is it shove?
Will we play in the aisle?
Or will it just last a while?
But still my mind tells me to keep my heart in place
but your eyes lift me up, bring me down
make me wish you were around
and your eyes make me see, make me blind
make me miss you all the time
and your eyes see through me, see my soul
make me want to loose, want to loose control
Funny thing, only takes just a little while to make you feel like such a child
and funny thing, when we're together it's okay, and we know just how we feel
and we don't have to wonder if it's real
but still mind tells me to keep my heart in place
(instrumental)
your eyes, your eyes, your eyes
And your eyes hold the key to a door that I never saw before
and your eyes make me stand, make me fall
make me wonder at it all
and your eyes make me wish, make me wait
make me hope that you can hold on
