Meant to be sung as a duet with a female singer...
Lyrics
In spite of what’s happened, a thousand reasons remain to endure. I won’t allow my convictions to drown in emotions I’ll learn to ignore. Giving over to grieving, is surrendering a part of my soul. And even now I believe somehow there is warmth to be found in this cold. This pain that I feel, at times a part of life itself, is only as real as I allow it to be. And in the past I have given so freely, I fed the flames with the pity I felt for myself but I’ll do it no more. I’m done with my reasons— the comforts they gave me are gone. I won’t allow the illusion of doubt to hold me back when it’s time to move on. Exhuming old situations adds so little to what I’ve known. Instead I’ll try to resurrect my pride and step into my future alone. These doubts that I feel at times a part of life itself, are only as real as I allow them to be. And in the past I have given so freely, I fed the flames with the fear that I felt for myself but I’ll do it no more.
