Story behind the song
During a bitter confrontation with a Black man who made the statement that any Black child raised by a White family will grow up to be a "race traitor", I was accused of being a "typical white liberal" who did not respect and embrace history as relevent to today. I do. This song is more than a message - it is a call to forgiveness from those common people for whom White people have been oppressors in exchange for the understanding and active work to change how that oppression affects those people now. This is why the song says "And I pray that my ACTIONS will show it." We all know talk is cheap. It is my sincere belief that with true forgiveness, we can achieve closure and work toward a better tomorrow together. The day grows late and we face a common enemy that recognises no racial divides but rather oppresses all common people. And the time is soon coming where the people of America are going to have to deal with the past and unite for tomorrow if we are to retain or achieve our freedom... depending on your point of view. Hopefully - Some people will recognise the message before that knee jerks up and starts bustin teeth.
Lyrics
I got original sin that carries on with the world that I'm in - My forefathers sword mottled with the blood of dark skinnded men - Viscious slave masters when they had the Constitutional Convention - It's my contention that my brethren were hell bent on death and deception to usher in the perception of manifest destination to pledge allegience to the corporation nation - I'm faced with the pain in their eyes and the lies of my bloodlines and I speak in my rhymes diatribe deep regret so that no one forgets all the lost lives - And I cries for lost tribes and apologize for the genocides - So I write these lines in the hopes that I may be forgiven for my fathers crimes - So I write these lines in the hopes that I may be forgiven for my fathers crimes Chorus: Please forgive me Red People This is your land and I know it Please forgive me Black People Those were my chains and I know it Please forgive me World People Those are my bombs and I know it Please forgive me, (spoken)I'm Sorry And I pray that my actions will show it No excuse there is none to speak that does not evoke that I am cloaked in white sheets - and white hoods that cover my face - But white hoods cannot mask my darkest disgrace - I'm faced with a history of death and so I choose to fight that until my very last breath and bring honor back into my skin So that one day,I may absolve my soul of sin - And hope that we can come together - One nation, one people, one spirit forever because we face today a common foe - A worldwide system called the NWO - The Illuminati knows no end and as a poor white man understand that I am no friend To the greed of the predetory elite - My Mother raised me to treat people equally (CHORUS) My only culture is the military - 3 generations of war - 100 years of white boys buried - I can walk all corners of this land - I can sail the high seas on noble ships and - I can count the grains of the desert sands - But cannot find the edges of the system - Cannot cure the disease but only treat the symptom - Remain a victim of the same political terrorism - Seen bullets seen blood seen prison from the inside - Risen to rank and hustled bank and now I'm driven to fight - And come to you today to bridge the divide - refuse to hide and turn off the lights man I refuse to lie - and if I die tonight - let it be known that I chose to fight - and if I die tonight - let this song be my last rights (CHORUS)
