Story behind the song
My thongs broke
Lyrics
I went down to the local store to buy myself some shoes, The sun was shining high and bright but my feet had the blues, I walked right in and I sat right down the storeman came to me, He said hello and he saw my feet he said its shoes you need. Well you can’t walk to Woop Woop with sandpaper on your feet, And it’s no use smelling like a rose and having blisters on your feet. Well I came out of the shop all gay in my fifty-dollar shoes, Of I went on down the road to tell my friends the news, I came upon an old friend but all she did was stare, She said hello and she saw my feet she said what`s those things you wear, Well you can’t walk to Woop Woop with sandpaper on your feet, And it’s no use smelling like a rose and having blisters on your feet. If you ever see me and you don’t like the clothes I wear, Well you can just keep on walking `cause I mightn’t like your hair, If you ever stop and tell me shoes are out today, I`ll turn around carry on with these few words I`ll say, Well you can’t walk to Woop Woop with sandpaper on your feet, And it’s no use smelling like a rose and having blisters on your feet.
