A fun high school band with an experimental edge... and a strong taste for the absurd.
The Schmatch Machine Collective was three (sometimes five) guys' attempt to break the mould of the typical high school rock band... They were active for the first half of 2004, recording an album and playing several shows before disbanding. Members include multi-instrumentalists Sam Adams () and Brooks Frederickson (), drummer Brad Crossland, and occassionally Kirby Carlsson and Brian Mack. It was a killer time...

Lyrics
You might say 'Hello,' and no one else would know Or you could hide it in your heart so deep And dig it out while your asleep Oh I would never know, unless you'd tell me Straight out! Right out! Straight out! If the world was at its end, you still wouldn't be my friend Cause you'd be scared of what the ashes would tell About how you thought of me so well Oh I would never know, unless you'd tell me Straight out! Right out! Straight out! You could say goodbye and never need to cry! You could cut the rope short today Before the twine begins to fray Oh I would never know No I would never know
