Bob was a local councillor who wanted to develop Ford park in ulverston cumbria for the use of the people of the town. He wanted to provide the young kids with a place to practice and record their music cheaply or for free. He got the place up and running using a guy that had been running a local studio to come in and develop the old coachouse on the site. then he got a brain tumour and died. Lots of the town folk came to his funeral, the church was full and colin wrote this song to comemerate what Bob was and how it had effected the town and the people left behind to carry on with his legacy.
Lyrics
Its enough to wipe the smile off the mona lisa.
It's enough to make a big bad man break down and cry
It's enough to shake the faith of a really true believer
But they cried when the honeypot hero died
Its acruel world where there aint no rhyme or reason
Its a cruel world where the good seems to die so young
But they take their place in the spaces in between us
And the honeypot heros soul goes marching on
MID
And the congregation prayed
but theirs no god anyway
and heavens just a sunny day
the day they drove hime down
The saints and sinners cried
as the whole town said goodbye
how come the heros die, Lord it seems so wrong
The honeypot heros gone.
