This piece was written one afternoon after sitting and watching a bit of Carmen on a television broadcast. Kate announced that she "wanted to grow up to be a peasant" and danced about the room.
The piece was revised about 10 years later to a full orchestration and was performed by the Eastern Sydney Chamber Orchestra
