Story behind the song

I sung this song as a child. This was the first song I ever hear in my life that I can first remember when grandpa backed me to church many miles up a dirt road to the Lewis Fork Church.He was finally churched when he killed a man. That ain't all that bad as the Preacher of the Mountains and the same church got throwed out too because of women. OH
