I think that it captures the grace of the swan with an undercurrent of drama and depression that come from its troubled youth and genetic monogamy. Enjoying life but always knowing dismal depths of loss are but a tragedy away.

Austin Martini is a homage reference to a certain secret agent character featured in over 20 action motion pictures, who drives a fast silver British sportscar and has been known to prefer to drink Martinis shaken, not stirred. It is not intended to be a reference in anyway to a city in Texas or Minnesota. The sound of this one man band has been discribed as the kind of music that one might here played live on a piano in a fine department store. With one major exception. It is completely improvised. Pulling flowing melodies and chord progressions from the soul. Think of it as mental watercolors painting pictures in your mind. It is a very relaxing sound. Some may be drawn into its hypnotic depths. Others may find it hard to stay awake. It is an acquired taste. It is original.

Story behind the song
When I first signed up with garageband.com I really enjoyed Lady from Odessa by Hattie Wilcox. It was a simple instrumentation with great complexity of emotion and sound. It is not surprising that my love of that track evolved into a love of the cello's timbre and moving vibrating power. So, here is my first piece that was written for a cello. I wanted to add a little more drama so I punctuated it with the timpani and cymbals.
