Story behind the song
josh wrote the song for his friend to try and help her out. her relationship struggle seemed identicle to a prior struggle he had with his once-girlfriend and so he used this song as a way to voice how he felt through his friends story. the line "together in the snow, no matter how cold" did not have to do with his friends story, but instead had to do with a certain arguement turned great time with his old girlfriend.
Lyrics
and if it takes all day 'fore we find ourselves all the way home - just don't let us waste the day away - yelling and fighting on such pointless grounds - hopeing we could laugh and play - together in the snow - no matter how cold -- fill me with guilt and mislead me to believe what's not there - if only i could follow you back to what once was ours - these fading smiles with passing days --- you save you've left it all behind, but still your past seems --- faking solitude with every sorrowful sigh - holding you back from what you wish you could have? - cry me to sleep and tell me that i've done wrong, you've done right --- you say you've left it all behind, but still your past seems --- with fingers you point your jealous - and for me to ask you to trust me again - once more - well this would be the last time!
