Lyrics
Medals On The Wall I heard my daddy singing, down by the riverside, just like he used to sing in church before. As we walked along the banks of, the little Piney river, he sang about not studying war no more. Then He turned to me and he said, Son I've got to go away, you'll have to be the Man around this place. I said daddy when you coming home, I'll miss you while you are gone, he just smiled a tear ran down his face. And now a soldiers medals are hanging on my wall but they don't begin to tell the story at all. and A Purple Heart can't replace a living breathing man, but he wouldn't had it any other way. No He wouldn't of had it any other way. I remember daddy saying, boy there's nothing free in this life, and freedom seems to cost the most of all. And now I know what he meant, as I dust off his shadow box, rearrange his picture on the wall. And now a soldiers medals are hanging on my wall but they don't begin to tell the story at all. and A Purple Heart can't replace a living breathing man, but he wouldn't had it any other way. No He wouldn't of had it any other way.
