Talented singer/songwriter/instrumentalist/composer, Colleen's music will touch your soul and move you.
I invite you to take a step inside my mind. Take a step back to places in my life re-enacted through melody. My music, my art and my words express the many different joys and sorrows that come with life. It is my hope that my life's experiences can touch and maybe even inspire you through music in the same way that music has touched and inspired my own life. I invite you to get to know me, and all the Shades of Gray that define who I am.

Story behind the song
This piece was inspired by "America's Best Unsigned Guitarist - 2001", James (Jimmy) Patton. I was shown a video of Jimmy playing his guitars (yes, you read that correctly-he plays two at a time!!) and saw him doing some flamenco pieces at a local coffee house. Not since seeing Tori Amos, Ray Alder and Dream Theater play live have I been so completely floored by what was happening before my eyes. After seeing and hearing Jimmy in person, I sat down and composed this piece. It was an honor to play it for him when we hooked up for the first time. It was an even bigger honor to have him really enjoy it! The title "El Tigre Luna" comes from a digital composite image that I created titled "Tiger Moon". That visual kept popping into my mind when I would listen to the song. I went with a Spanish title due to the Latin feel in the rythym section. You can view the image at my personal site. There are two elements of this piece that I am especially fond of: ~The counterpoint exchange that happens in the lead piano part during the bridge. ~The way the rythym's Latin feel blends with the subtle Arabic/Egyptian Minor piano melody.
