Story behind the song
After a lot of deaths of friends and family in a short span of time, I took some time out to reflect on things, and this tune came out of that. This is also another tune that features the fantastic vocals of my friend Dennis Wood.
Lyrics
GONE Scattered Showers 2006 Time slips away, and pretty soon it's the end of another day H The time that's past, is something you can never get back, so try to make the most of it stay on track, one day you will look around and C See that life is all behind you, Gone And wish that you had done things differently, Gone Time marches on, no matter what we, say Do we spend it foolishly, getting our own ways H Or do we spend it doing what we know is right Sacrificing ourselves to be His light Have you said a kind word, or cut someone down Don't you know that it will come back around C See that life is all behind you, Gone And wish that you had done things differently, Gone Now I am working towards a fulfilling plan One laid out on the Word, on which I'll take my stand H I will not waste another day focusing on me I'm going to give as freely as I have received C No longer looking at the life behind, Gone The old man is pushed aside, He's Gone
