Story behind the song
I've been working as accompanist for a gospel group and, being an Elvis/gospel fan (an 'amateur' Christian?), I gave rein to my songwriting abilities to see what would happen.
Lyrics
1. I've seen the Saviour healing the blind, I've heard Him comfort the poor. I've been a witness to His holy mind - What can I ask any more? 2. I've listened to Him teaching the wise - People who said He was wrong. I saw it shining, the love in His eyes His message was so clear and strong. Refrain 1. I've seen it done (I've seen it done), I've seen it done (I've seen it done), Wonderful miracles - something good for everyone. I've seen it done (I've seen it done), I've seen it done (I've seen it done), I've seen the Holy Ghost, Father and Son. Verse 3. I was beside Him the day when He wept, I saw the tears on his face. But to Martha and Mary the promise was kept And death was put back in its place. Refrain 2. I've seen it done (I've seen it done), I've seen it done (I've seen it done), Wonderful miracles - something good for everyone. I've seen it done (I've seen it done), I've seen it done (I've seen it done), I've seen the Holy Ghost, Father and Son. 4. I was there with Him in the Garden of Shame, Standing so near to His side. No-one can tell me that He was to blame When they took Him to be crucified! 5. In a room all together, sad and alone, And mourning the loss of our King. Then He was among us to claim back His throne - Now death doesn't mean anything! Refrain 3. I've seen it done (I've seen it done), I've seen it done (I've seen it done), Wonderful miracles - something good for everyone. I've seen it done (I've seen it done), I've seen it done (I've seen it done), I've seen the Holy Ghost, Father and Son.
