One of the very first songs I wrote as a serious musician. Evolved over the years and, though its only a rough copy, I'm happy with it.
acoustic rock melodic sou
Acoustic rock/folk/easy listening. Melodic, soulful & energetic acoustic/full band ballads.
Hello and thanks for taking the time to check me out...so to speak! Please let your opinions be known on my message board...good or bad! Based in South Lanarkshire near Glasgow, Scotland, I'm a bass guitarist by trade but have flirted with the idea of branching out on my own. Formerly Bass guitarist of Hamilton bands Cluster & Cooran. Currently writing my own material.

Lyrics
JOURNEY OF A BOXER Would you punch me black and blue? Make me get on my knees and grovel to you It takes a lot for you to think you hate me I’ll rest in peace just knowing your mind’s at ease When you're aching, tort and tired Somebody with a shotgun in his pocket and a glimpse of a smile Takes a blow and then he’ll cling to you The judges rule you scored a ten in round two I hear them tell me, “Put the lights back on” I can’t be certain it’s to you I belong Show me the door and baby let me in Oh what a journey it’s been Muscles tender, winded breath He doesn’t look as though he’s trying his best Would you trick me, taunt and tease? You're not to know he takes a dive in round three I bet Saint Lucifer is red with rage His embers glow but his bad temper’s uncaged He’ll haul you in but there ain’t no way out I know I’m in with a shout I’m back to haunt you baby, don’t cause a scene It’s odds against me to win I don’t believe I should tell you what I've seen Oh what a journey it’s been A game of ill repute and glimmers of hope I barely touched him now he’s back on the ropes The tales of bribery, don’t take offence If I knew better I’d just do it again I hear them tell me, “Put the lights back on” I can’t be certain it’s to you I belong Show me the door and baby let me in Oh what a journey it’s been Oh what a journey it’s been Oh what a journey it’s been
