A Midsummer Night's Dream
Acoustic-folk revival small-time record label.
Welcome to Charles Scott Productions' temporary homepage. I am a full-time college student and I record myself and my friends in my spare time.
Lyrics
My day has just begun as the evening sun comes out from behind the clouds.
As I head south the wind calls my name out loud, and tells me I must take another route.
'Cause the road is closed, and beside that I need a change of clothes.
So I step off in an open grove and I slip off my open toed sandals.
Ok, they're shoes but they've been broken and manhandled.
I change my threads then i hit the road again.
Haven't gone that far, before I break down outside a bar.
So I step inside. The stage is bright, the place is full of life,
so I try to hitch a ride. By this time it's getting well into the night
So I decide to try and find a vacancy sign but the "no" it shines a light.
But by the door I see quite the sight, brown hair and about five five in height.
And to my delight she looks my way and I meet her eyes,
so I try and take my chance. After all I'm wearing my lucky pants
and a shirt to match. But I can't get too ancy,
could I be lucky enough to have this dance you see...
...my cars brokedown, and I'm in need of a ride outta town.
She said "You're just in luck. I've got an open seat in my daddy's pick-up truck."
So we had our dance and she told me all about how she left her heart in France.
And as I hear 5-0 I see the policeman and he's walkin' through the door.
So I turned real cool and asked her if there was a back way out you know that she knew.
You see I'm on the lamb. I've got to stay two steps ahead of my Uncle Sam.
She said she had a plan. She had me hidin' out in the ladies can
from detective Dan Grady's hands so maybe I could stay to see the sunlight again.
"You see I'm lonely friend" is what she said as the grin on her face quickly fled.
She soon smiled again 'cause her chair did spin. She was havin' so much fun with it.
That's when I stole a kiss. It was bliss. A kiss like this could only mean synthesis,
an end to loneliness. It really did the trick. A kid at the circus you know I felt like this.
She said it's been so long and at that moment the band started to play what she said was her song.
She lit a Parliament. I watched her face turn red as she coughed on it.
She offered me a stick, but that was one offer I would not accept.
The band finished their set as she finished her last cigarette.
By the time most the place had left we decided it was our turn to get.
So we hit the road and all we do is roam. Stories been told.
