Acoustic, harmonies, chilled out, relationships.
A combination of Tom Nash from 'A Nash Odyssey' and Ashley Morton from 'Accolade Sky', Nashley is a 'supergroup', if you will. If you won't, we're an 'awesomegroup'. Nah, just yanking your chain. We play acoustic guitar and singing harmonies. Or attempt to, at least.

Story behind the song
The lyrics to this song make me cringe a little - it’s definitely my most ‘clichéd emo’ song. Actually, I don’t mind the use of the ‘bird’ metaphor that’s all too horribly familiar in modern music - it couples nicely with the fact that the chorus opens with two clichéd phrases concerning birds. But rhyming things like ‘cage’ with ‘enraged’? Ouch. Anyway, it’s about being crushed in a relationship. It’s about being treated more like a pet than a person, and feeling unbelievably trapped by the one person who should be making them feel free. I quite like the second verse, since it demonstrates that twisted moment when you realise that actually, you’re hurting, and you have no control.
Lyrics
A bird in the hand is good, and it's worth two in the bush But neither compare to one trapped in a birdcage When I try to fly, I find you've blocked the sky With metal bars, and it gets me pretty enraged I live in my own mess; it adds to my distress And to be honest, I'm feeling quite insulted 'Cause no matter what I sing, or how wide I spread my wings I can never be everything you wanted And sometimes I feel like I'm the only person at my party But through the thin walls I hear your calls, so I follow Walk into the kitchen and everyone is bitching about my latest screw-up I bear it with a grin but my blood grows thin at your smile A bird in the hand is good, and it's worth two in the bush But neither compare to one trapped in a birdcage When I try to fly, I find you've blocked the sky With metal bars, and it gets me pretty enraged I live in my own mess; it adds to my distress And to be honest, I'm feeling quite insulted 'Cause no matter what I sing, or how wide I spread my wings I can never be everything you wanted And sometimes I feel like I'm the only driver on the road My funds are low and I can't afford the toll But I feel alright and my headlight's bright until I notice all the road kill And they bear my face, and your name's on my number plate A bird in the hand is good, and it's worth two in the bush But neither compare to one trapped in a birdcage When I try to fly, I find you've blocked the sky With metal bars, and it gets me pretty enraged I live in my own mess; it adds to my distress And to be honest, I'm feeling quite insulted 'Cause no matter what I sing, or how wide I spread my wings I can never be everything you wanted Yeah, I know I'm trapped inside a birdcage (x 8) (overlaid the last 4:) A bird in the hand is good, and it's worth two in the bush But neither compares to one trapped in a birdcage (x3) No matter what I sing or how wide I spread my wings, I can never be everything you wanted.
