songs from a twin cities basement
I'm Eric Kalenze, and Gawker Slowdown is the name I've given my little musical hobby. While I'm currently in a state of semi-retirement from music, I still write and play out occasionally. All songs on this site were written, performed, and recorded by me in my Twin Cities basement.

Lyrics
brothers did we lose our sight staring at that fire in the manhattan sky? we follow those who invoke its terrible light with little question of how or why they've thrown out bloodshed as a last resort thrown out the rights of every man saying the victim can simply name his retort even if it means punishing innocent hands if we become so frightened that we forget common sense there's no noose they won't tighten in the name of self-defense like criminals, they prefer the dark so much they can do when we can't see haul away or ruin those who dare make sparks say it ain't their place to disagree so is this what we've elected? to stand idly by our cities drowning unprotected while we're off in a war built on lies don't you get so frightened that you forget your common sense open your eyes, brothers stand up in self-defense
