and . for the rest, it means more to me than anything that these songs to you have meant . love always, lawton (jonah) ok this is the thing i do, everybody has their own "thing" you know, i've got some friends for example some like to scribble in journals or make collages, i know some people who play basketball, some people who decorate aquariums, who babysit, its not really a matter of honor or payment or amusement or even plain killing time its just singing the true song of your soul. i'm eighteen years old, i'm slightly nearsighted, i like to wear stripes, i hate the way certain words sound and i would like to sing for you, if you like these, feel free to burn them to cds for your own private pleasure or order official copies ($1 each) from . four sample songs four more sample songs good friday's label. order cds for $1 each here.

Lyrics
i rode my thumb across the state. i thought i'd find an answer, but all i found was a traffic light. it was getting dark and cold, and i was shaking like a dancer. i asked, "can i ride home with you tonight?" i felt my heart turning as the engine lit the pistons. that's when i saw the warning light. i asked to get out, but you didn't seem to listen after i asked, "can i ride home with you tonight?" i told you how scared i was you'd leave like all the others, but you promised, "it'll be all right. dreamers," you said, "are supposed to look out for one another. i'm going to get you home tonight." you asked for a notebook page 'cause you said your nose was runny. you said, "i hope i'm not sounding trite." we made some small talk, you said it sounded kind of funny when i asked, "can i ride home with you tonight?" i thought you looked beautiful, and i felt compelled to tell you. you said, "baby, we don't need to fight. i know you're made of high hopes, but i guess i have to dispell you. i'm just giving you a ride home tonight." you took us to a ghost town, you had to take care of some business. you had already dug your own gravesite. you looked up, you were crying, you said, "how ridiculous is this! who's going to get you home tonight?" you said, "oh, you've got talent, kid, you'll make the show someday." i said, "but i've got terrible stage fright!" you said, "if you can't help yourself, you need to find your own way to get yourself back home tonight." i kissed you goodbye the best i could with you rubbing out your tears. you said, "would you stop stealing my birthright?" i got so lonesome, i had to leave, but you whispered in my ears, "can i still ride home with you tonight?"
