Story behind the song
Caleb's Commentary: First off, if you haven't noticed we're opening and closing every entry with Summertime by Hale-Bopp. The only thing that might slip past people in the openning is the line "for the 64th time this week." Intended N64 reference? It's possible. Then comes the good ol' KWEH jingle. We realize people who don't play Final Fantasy won't get why it's called KWEH, and we realize that LAOS is one of those people. Then we got our random PSP commercial rip-off followed by our first commercial. Megaman Pepsi Blue First off, me and Voltaire are the only people in the world who loved Pepsi Blue, and we'll defend it to the death if you say anything bad about it. I love Voltaire's Frost Man impression here. His Eddie voice was unintentionally exactly the same as Itchy from The Simpsons. I tried to do a voice for Megaman that was a cross between the old MM cartoon and Stinkoman from Homestar Runner. The same voice actor did Megaman and Goku from Dragonball Z, that explains why I do the whole "Ka-me-ha-me-HA!" thing. The sound effect for charging the mega buster is actually from Megaman X and the sound effect for Frost Man dying is ripped from Shael Riley's "Break the Beat in Half" OCReMix. And yes, that's me going "wahwahwah." Then we get random Simpson's goodness, just like a real radio station promo. Hero of Time Training Academy This is my favorite part and I'm barely even in it! Gotta love the old Zelda cartoon sound byte. The voice Voltaire did for this one was what I think is a perfect imitation of Sarge from Red Vs. Blue. I'll explain a few of the 1 percenters from the list for those who didn't get them all. "Total Roc Feather Guy" was a blatant way to point out that we were doing an homage to Strongbad Email #26 - "CGNU." "Falling Back" is the title of Darangen's remix of Gerudo Valley on OCR... go listen to it... it's good. LAOS Worship is a reference to our last entry, and the fact that LAOS is one sexy man. "Sarge Mimickry" of course refers to the voice Voltaire is using. The little jingle in the background is "Ganon Appears" from Zelda 1 being played by my cell phone. It's my ringtone for text messages currently. Metal Gear Solid - Stealth Tampons This one was admitedly a bit of a stretch, but I loved writing the lines for Ninja. That and making fun of the fact that Snake repeats everything that's ever said to him in the game. The outakes we got from this one are pure gold, trust me. Then we end it with the "coming this July" runner. I don't know why I love that so much. As for the ending, yes that actually is Trenthian. We had him call Voltaire's cell phone to read his lines. Trenthian, you ROCK man! And I love that he doesn't even actually request Summertime, it just automatically plays.
