Sutton Girl was the idea of surf and Garage man Eddy Venus being inspired by the track valley girls by Frank Zappa. Sutton is an area of greater London which is advised to be avoided at all times. The women that live in Sutton are as hard as the men, some of the local pubic houses lost no longer than two weeks before they are closed down again as a result of someone being shot or beaten to death.
Eddy’s daughter improvised the lyrics his ex wife plays the Keyboards Eddy on Guitar and my self on the Bass.
We conned his daughter into thinking it was going to be a Drum and Bass track in order to get her to do it although she got the idea of what we were trying to say and she came across convincingly.
