Story behind the song
I wrote this little piece in 1994. I recorded it on 4-track tape. I intended to write lyrics, but decided to just play some improvised guitar lines on top of it. Once I did that, I never considered lyrics again.
"Downey Lane" is very rough, but one of my personal favorites. Incidentally, this tune was my only number one tune at the original mp3.com...
