First off Im not a part of a band anymore, Im retired and I only write lyrics for songs and poems since my husband died in 2001 we were married for 51 yrs and he was the talented one he could play 4 musical instruments and had a wonderful voise and looked good to go with it. We did the Nashville thing when we were young but that kind of life gets old real fast. I gave it up when the children started coming and Bucky gave it up when his health started down hill. All good thing come to an end. During those years we met lots of wonderful people and I have pictures on my web sit Http;//www.DurrumFamilyTradition.zoomshare.com Pictures of all the Famous people we open the show for on Friday night Frolics at WSM.

Story behind the song
My Mother-in law was all ways carried a baby and noway out of her abusive Marriage until one of 17 year old boys sent her his Navy paycheck every month so she could live without him and one night when he went out drinking she packed up all 12 children and ran off and never looked back.
Lyrics
Pickin’ Up The Pieces v. 1 I know you don’t believe me Cause I’ve said it all before But this time I mean it I can’t take it anymore You’re not worth the tears So why should I cry Cause you did me a favor When you said goodbye Chorus: I’m tired of pickin’ up the pieces Of my broken heart And piecing back together A love you love tearing apart Well this time I’m leaving it Scattered on the floor Right where you left it darlin’ When you gave up And walked right out the door v. 2 It’ll be different this time Unlike the times before I’ve learned a hard lesson That just can’t be ignored Yea, I finally see What it is I needed I ain’t pickin’ up the pieces Of what was you and me 2nd Chorus I’m tired of pickin’ up the pieces Of my broken heart And piecing back together A love you’ve torn apart Well this time I’m leaving it Still scattered on the floor Right where you left it darlin’ When you gave up And walked right out that door Tag: Oh, Cause my poor heart Can’t take it anymore © 2005 Collins/Durrum words and music
