Hi folks. I have added a lot of videos recently. Please take a look!
Hi folks, This site acts as a personal archive of my work. So you'll find my best recordings here as well as some pretty crappy ones. The earliest recordings here were made on simple cassette decks, others were made on mobile phones, some are live recordings made at various gigs over the years, a handful were made in small recording studios, but most of the more recent ones were made at home on a Zoom portable studio, which itself is now rather ancient! If you like a song and want to download it, click on 'Full song info' for that song and you will see the download link. You can also read the lyrics and any background information on the songs that I may have added. All my music is available for free - enjoy :) cheers, Charles

Story behind the song
Chris had created this unusual and atmospheric composition. The threat of nuclear war inspired the lyrics I wrote for it. The recording was made at Philo Hayward's studio in Comptche valley - not far from Mendocino - in 1981. Bonnie's keyboard work features strongly. You can see Bonnie playing in the picture here.
Lyrics
The sky is burning The world is turning No more the master voice Poison flies the wind Call down the satellites Time will clear the sky New days will dawn in a different world Strange babies cry Across the ages Dead voices speak Oh will the insects understand A monkey library? Oh will the insects understand A monkey library? Mutant future - mutate Mutant future - mutate Mutant future - mutate Mutant future - mutate Deep in the Pentagon A telephone rings The red line is glowing In the dying machine Children of Icarus You fly too near the sun Cities like feathers falling Falling down
