I came up with this one on the fly, I wanted to make another song and had no inspiration... so I thought about how much the swampy areas suck real bad in the spring. It's all wet and gross and you get stuck in mud easily. Disgusting.

Blakkstorm is a one-man black metal project, done with very raw guitar recording and keyboard, with percussion and background sounds made on FruityLoops. The music is meant to convey images of the cold and harsh North Ontario winter, thus the album name Pale Boreal Wastelands.

Lyrics
Dead Pine Swamps Moss hangs loosely over rotted wood Maggots crawl out from beneath dead hides The stench of death emanates from dying pines A forest of eternal decomposing filth The darkness hangs here like a shroud Putrid mists rise up from gaseous swamps Slimes and fungus find their home on the dead Stinking reeking moldy vegetation rots Dead pine swamps No place for the living to dwell Steaming marshes give sacrifice To the gods of disease Dead pine swamps Doomed under weeping sludge A canopy of tendrils above Consumes the light forever No signs of life are seen herein Nothing moves, all is gridlocked in decay Giant pine trees creak and groan Lamenting o'er their painful lives. The murky waters bubble forth Black as ink and twice as thick All who enter here are trapped and drowned In this forest of life-devouring agony Dead pine swamps Roosting grounds for insects Worms and fecal matter Fester in the putrid mud Mosquitoes hunt down all who bleed Feasting on their spilling hides Sinking deep into the murk Join the tortured souls under the dead pine swamps!
