Story behind the song
This is the title cut to our latest CD "Old Buried Treasures" I wrote this song about an old man and woman that lived next to me when I was a little boy. Jonas and Ollie Priest were my neighbors that were old and taught me so much about things. He was a WW1 Veteran and a great checker player. His wife loved Jesus and would always tell me about Jesus. Jonas use to tell all of us kids about some treasure he had buried down in the woods next to a stump. He said if we found it we could have it. Well we tried digging up that treasure, but all we did was loosen up his stumps. I figure that old man had some wisdom in how to get his stumps loosen up. I did later in life after Jonas and Ollie died figure out that the treasure was there with me the whole time. It was them and the love of God they had in their hearts. This song I wrote in about 10 minutes one night about 4:30 a.m. This is my song to them, enjoy!!!!!!!!! Bruce Weeks
