Story behind the song
The song is based on the diary of a 13 year old Romani girl who was seeking asylum in Britain. It relates how she and her family were seized in the middle of the night and sent to a series of detention centres, only to be finally put on a train back home - to Newcastle. It was written for the film 'Visit Dungavel, Monster of the Glen' which explores issues around detention of people seeking asylum in Britain today. The film is available from www.camcorderguerillas.net
