Story behind the song
It was a time in my spiritual journey where I was earnestly desiring to experience Jesus's prayer of John 17. At this time I had a close friend encourage me that when I wrote to not only write from man's viewpoint as crying out to God...but to "put myself in God's place" and speak the heart of God back to men. He explained this is how the prophets of old spoke...by inspiration of the Spirit of Christ which was in them. The first verse was the cry of my soul out to God...and it came very easy without even thought. It took me a while to complete the second verse as I was not at all used to "thinking like God" and "putting on the mind of Christ". The second verse is that of our Bridegroom singing of His UNCONDITIONAL LOVE for us...His Bride.
