Lyrics
There are no awkward silences in this place. The conversation may steer into a doldrumed lull But there are no awkward silences here. There is no foot-tapping, finger-flicking, look off blankly apprehension in the absence of discussion. David Bowie is playing; transcending 100 years of generation. And no judgements, pass. This is a home. Where spirits meet and collide in triumphant collaboration, however inane or trivial. The mad chesire grin drapes across my face. A debutant sits on the floor. A man who was a genius only a few years before, but who had taken a wrong turn down memory lane, drinks rum out of a plastic cup. He tries in vain to muster a thought, but he is happy now. An artist lays with her head on a docile dog's belly and above her plainclothes men are having a discussion about the condition of early spring golf courses. These are my last(ing) impressions of an unpretentious life in an unpretentious country with unpretentious people. They're all strange angels. Tomorrow I will be gone, but I'll keep this memory. Just this one.
